Google Keyword Tool
Google's free Keyword Tool helps you refine the keywords you use on your website or ads and come up with more keywords related to your website or advertising campaign. Google AdWords Keyword tool gives you related keywords, and their average search volume. You can download a partial or full list of suggested keywords from Google Keyword tool, making online advertising easier and quicker.
Google Keyword tool is used in Internet marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and website development. By identifying the most popular and high paying keywords relevant to a particular website, Google Keyword tool helps boost traffic to that site or ad campaign. Having good keywords also increases the usability of your website, since Internet users are more likely to click on a link that contains the exact keywords they're looking for.
Google Keyword tool is also used to isolate the most popular topics and keywords for website articles or blogs. New articles are then written on these top-ranking topics, or old articles or blogs are optimized using these new keywords from Google Keyword. Optimizing older content with Google Keyword tool makes the articles or blogs rank higher on search engine results and (hopefully) attract more traffic.
Google's Search-based keyword tool will also bring up a list of keywords, along with detailed information about each keyword to the right of the keywords, in graph format, including keyword popularity (keyword search volume), the average cost per click of that keyword, the advertising competition for that particular keyword, etc.
In addition to targeting the most popular keywords, Google's AdWords keyword tool will also give you a list of long tail keywords, which are less common keyword phrases that smaller websites have a better chance of ranking high with. Long tail keywords are made up of strings of a few keywords together, such as "get well eCard dad " instead of just "greeting cards" or "eCards." Although these long tail keywords phrases don't have the vast search volume of major keywords, there's a lot less competition for them, and smaller websites have a better chance of ranking high here and getting noticed. For instance, if you're a small, new website, it's almost impossible to rank high online with the keyword "games." However, you have a much better chance of ranking high with the phrase "new games for kids." Although long tail keywords don't have the vast volume of traffic that shorter keywords have, it's a lot easier to get top ranking for these long tail keywords.
Google's keyword tool will display long tail keywords from the initial keyword results page. Just click the title of the "Ave. Search Volume" or "Global Search Volume" and it will show you lowest ranking keywords first. Including these keywords will improve SEO and boost traffic to your website.
