Link Spam

Link spam is an unethical black hat SEO technique that can temporarily increase your search engine rankings (until you get caught, anyway). Many major search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, and others use link popularity to help determine a webpage's search engine ranking. Link spamming takes advantage of these link-based algorithms. Link spamming includes the risky practices of page hijacking, splogs (fake blogs or "spam blogs"), wiki spam, purchasing expired domains, link farms, and Sybil Attack. Using any of these unethical link spam practices can get you banned by search engines.
